Dr. Tim Barclay, Ph.D.

Dr. Barclay is the clinical director of Advanced Psychotherapeutics. He has a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. He is also a professor of Clinical Psychology at Liberty University and is the Asst. Director of the Center of Professional and Clinical Psychology at Liberty University. Dr. Barclay has a diverse background. In addition to his clinical practice, he is a retired police officer from the Pittsburgh, PA area where he served for 20 years in the patrol division and criminal investigation’s bureau. He is also a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He is a graduate of the U.S. Army Ranger School and served in the 7th Light Infantry Division.Dr. Barclay maintained a clinical practice for many years and developed treatment programs for juvenile offenders for the Court of Common Pleas. Dr. Barclay completed his residency at Piedmont Psychiatric Center/Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg, VA.He specializes in the treatment of ADHD, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and addictions. He has received training from Harvard Medical School in the clinical and research applications of non-invasive brain stimulation techniques which he uses for ADHD, Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Addiction, Depression, and Anxiety. Furthermore, he is a Fellow of the American Institute of Stress. Dr. Barclay is a trained practitioner of neurofeedback therapy.Dr. Barclay is also a staff psychologist with the international telemedicine group, Doctor on Demand. In addition to clinical practice and teaching, Dr. Barclay is a published author and researcher in resilience and the clinical use of positive psychology, and the use of non-invasive brain stimulation in clinical practice. He has also authored and co-authored many academic publications and books.

Dr. Jeff McNeil

Dr. Jeff McNeil has 25 years of experience as a US Army Psychologist, including over 20 years in Army and Joint Special Operations conducting assessment and selection. He served as the Chief Operational Psychologist for the US Army Talent Management Task Force. Prior to his retirement, he was the longest-serving Operational Psychologist in the US Army. COL (Ret) McNeil served in Army and Joint Special Operations from 2001-2022, including the US Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) and Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC) Headquarters. He also served 5 years in a US Army Special Mission Unit and three years in the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne). Previous to special operations assignments, COL (Ret) McNeil served as the 82D Airborne Division Psychologist at Fort Bragg, and completed his internship at Dwight Eisenhower Medical Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia.COL McNeil has conducted, validated, and assisted with the development of numerous assessment and selection courses over the last two decades. He is the former Army Operational Psychology Consultant to the Surgeon General. COL McNeil helped design the Operational Psychology in Personnel Selection Course for USASOC. As the Director of Psychological Applications at USASOC, he served on the Health, Performance, and Wellness Council for the Commanding General. COL McNeil is a certified SERE Psychologist by the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency and has conducted several real-world and training reintegration missions. He is an Aeromedical Psychologist and has served as a non-rated crew member with the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. COL (Ret) McNeil has deployed in support of combat operations across CENTCOM and PACOM.COL McNeil earned his Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at Western Michigan University, an M.A. in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Navy War College, an M.A. in Counseling from Asbury Seminary, and his B.A. in Political Science from Michigan State University.

Dr. David Dickey, Ph.D.

Dr. David Dickey completed his graduate training at Texas A&M University, obtaining his PhD in Counseling Psychology. He completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at the University of Florida. Dr. Dickey joined Advanced Psychotherapeutics after completing a 28-year career in the Air Force, retiring as a Colonel.

During his Air Force career, Dr. Dickey was able to serve in a number of innovative positions and programs. He was on the faculty of the psychology residency training program at Andrews Air Force Base for five years, and the deputy director of the program for two. Also during this period he was the Air Force Wounded Warrior liaison for the National Capital Region, responsible for coordinating evacuation, family support and travel, and care for wounded Airmen during war operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan. He was assigned to the Pentagon for two years as the Chief of Deployment Mental Health, advising the Air Force Surgeon General on policy and practice related to deployment and resiliency. During that period, Dr. Dickey was the lead for the standup of the Deployment Transition Center at Ramstein AB, a vanguard third location decompression initiative for individuals and units who had high levels of exposure to morbidity/mortality. He later served for four years as the behavioral health consultant to the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) leadership on all issues related to mental health and personnel selection within AFSOC.

During his career, Dr. Dickey deployed three times, including Baghdad, Iraq; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; and the United Arab Emirates. He has authored or collaborated on numerous initiatives promoting mental health throughout his career.

Dr. Bobby Sidell

Dr. Bobby Sidell

Dr. Bobby Sidell is an experienced clinical psychologist with 24 years of service in the United
States Army, including over 15 years in Army Special Operations, where he specialized in
assessment and selection programs. COL (Ret) Sidell served in Army Special Operations from
2009 to 2024, including the 1st Special Forces Command (Airborne) and the John F. Kennedy
Special Warfare Center and School (Airborne). He also served in the Office of Special Warfare.
He has provided individual and organizational consultation to elite military units, including the
Army Green Berets, Navy SEALs, Marine Raiders, and Tier I Special Mission Units, on both
classified and unclassified missions.


Before his assignments in Special Operations, COL (Ret.) Sidell served in several critical roles,
such as Prevention Team Leader for the 85th Combat Stress Detachment, Psychologist at the
United States Military Academy at West Point, and Director of Training for an Army internship
and residency program. His clinical internship was completed at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army
Medical Center, Fort Gordon, Georgia.


COL (Ret) Sidell is a certified SERE Psychologist by the Joint Personnel Recovery Agency. He
notably served as the lead psychologist for several real-world missions, playing a crucial role in
the healthy reintegration and optimal functioning of Americans returning home after years of
captivity in countries such as Afghanistan, North Korea, and Russia. His work has benefited elite
military units in the Department of Defense and professional sports teams. He has advised on the
evaluation processes of elite performers and senior personnel, emphasizing the critical roles that
resilience, holistic support, and well-being play in performance and quality of life.
COL Sidell earned a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology at Wheaton College and a B.S. in Psychology
at Olivet Nazarene University.
